Company’s history
1991
The founding year of HKM Kunststoffverarbeitung GmbH.
The company was being established by three persons,
all of them having university education, Klaus Hempel,
Hartmut Köpp and Peter Marschner.
1992
The first NEW injection moulding machine from ARBURG was purchased.
Before this time, our production had been running on second-hand machines.
As a result of the political change, a lot of companies were orced to close down.
We started our production on three very old machines we had bought at a
favourable price.
1996
Partner change:
Partners Hartmut Köpp and Peter Marschner withdrew from business.
Klaus Hempel’s children, Maik Hempel and Uta Sachse, became partners,
with a re-orientation towards further industrial branches taking place.
2000
- Establishing the mould making section and purchase of the first
CNC milling machine.
- Setting up a design department and introduction of a uniform
CAD/CAM system in designing and mould making.
- Beginning of apprentice training.
2001
Tenth anniversary of the company.
- HKM presented itself under a new LOGO and started the
construction of a new extension building.
Until 2003
Start of the new injection moulding facility at Neugersdorf.
Extension of capacities by modern injection moulding
machines, a central materials conveying system,
a storage facility, a measuring room, etc.
- Reconstruction and extension of the mould making section.
- Purchase of high-performance machine tools.
2006
Certification as per DIN EN ISO 9001:2008.
- Introduction of a new VISI CAD/CAM system.
- Purchase of a CNC lathe.
2007
- Our Senior Managing Director Klaus Hempel died. The company
was transferred to the second generation for continuation.
- Purchase of a 350 t injection moulding machine with
handling peripherals.
- Purchase of a CNC grinding machine for mould making.
Until 2009
Purchase of a 35 t injection moulding machine
- Purchase of a CNC wire EDM machine and a EDM cavity
sinking machine with a 100 station workpiece changer.
